Cant Get The Tv On Xbox 360 To Work

hi guys. i cant get the tv or watch videos on my xbox 360. ive downloaded the media thing and it all works fine and i installed it but i looked on the installer on the help website and it says you will have to enter a 8 digit code. I have the code but i cant enter it coz nothing comes up. I can stream music and pictures onto xbox but i cant videos??? whats up with that?
if your talking about windows media connect you can not stream videos with that program you need xp media center 2005, or vista i have heard that vista works with the 360 for streaming videos bit i know xp media center 2005 works that is what i am useing
