My question is how do you get the samsung drive to work under windows/linux.  I haven't seen any documenation on putting the drive into debug mode or what not.

Well I don't know if the tool is all THAT boring.. But it sure does look promising for a future firmware release.

I'm guessing that you can easily swap back and forth between samsung and hitatchi so long as you have the key, that is the only thing that locks it, not the brand of drive. I was wondering about that as I haven't noticed it announced anywhere that you could interchange, but nobody said you couldn't.

how do you gain access to the Samsung drive?  Is there any documents on how to put the drive int a debug mode?  So it can be brought up under Win/Linux

no, it just adds your key to a firmware file, if anyone ever releases a cracked one. and for the toshiba, you don't need it recognized under windows/linux. You can dump/write with mtkflash on a dos bootdisk with the drive plugged in to a sata adapter. Look on xbh for a thread called "TS-H943 flash by software" towards the end for more details.

You just need to know exactly where to edit , plus only works for one game. anybody knows what to edit to make it free for all?

So does this allow one to use any 360 drive in any 360 or is the whole thing secured with a hash making it pointless?
