Working Nes Emulator Through Mce! (no Sound)
« Reply #165 on: July 08, 2006, 04:13:00 PM »

roms will not show up for me

when the script runs, i select open then run ...but get the following error message:

==========================

Windows Script Host

Script:  ....path
Line:  18
Character:  23
Error:  Path not found
Code:  800A004C
Source:  Miscrosoft VBScript Runtime error

==========================

i have a dual boot machine ( XP Home & MCE 2005 ).  home is on the C:  and mce is on G:.

does that matter or do i need to edit the script to read it off of the G: drive.

any help would be appreciated.

thanx in advance

Edit the PROCESS.VBS script (in notepad) - change all C:\ instances to G:\ (or wherever you may have installed the emulator - I'd assume G:\, since that's your MCE drive.)

Is there a way to get the roms list to show up so many roms per page (multi-page menu)?  I have about 700 NES roms and it takes FOREVER to get to the end of the list.

I was inspired by this topic and decided to make a GameBoy Emulator through MCE.

I just embedded JavaBoy to an html page. Now (almost)everything is working fine. It runs flawless on the PC but the problem with it is that i need to click on the java applet for the controls to work. So i can't do anything with it on the xbox(except watching the intro of the game..) So can anyone help me to some sort of "autofocus" on the java applet?

the html code:
QUOTE(htm file)

<HTML>
<BODY BGCOLOR=000000 TEXT=FFFFFF>
<applet code="JavaBoy.class" width=460 height=432 style="position:absolute; left: 14px; top: 6px;">

      <param name="AUTOSCRIPT" value="startup.scp">
      <param name="SOUND" value="OFF">
  </applet>

Well, seeing as the gameboy has the same button layout as the NES, couldn't you just copy the same script from the other emulator to make it functional?

Just a thought, I have NO experience at this stuff at all.  uhh.gif

How are you supposed to get the emulator to show up in the MC Extender on your Xbox 360? I'm not a noob at emulation, my XBox 360, or MCE (ok, I am a noob there). I can see it fine in MCE on my PC, but "NES Emulator" never shows up under "More Programs" when running the MCE Extender App on the 360. I have the folder extracted to the correct location (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\Media Center\Media Center Programs\), with the MCL file and the NES folder inside the "Media Center Programs" folder. Again, it shows up fine in MCE on the PC, but never on the 360. I've tried rebooting the 360, restarting the Extender App, running MCE on the PC and the 360 at the same time, etc. Everything else in the 360 MCE extender works fine.

can someone please try to explain to me why no roms show up under the rom list, even after i refresh it?

ok, i got the roms to show up now
(i had to edit the process script file)
but now, when i go to run a rom, it says to please upgrade your java virtual machine to run the nescafe emulator.
now what does that mean?
i have java on my computer, but why wont the emulator work?!?!?

go to www.java.com and download the latest JRE (Java Runtime Environment).
