Nintendo Revolution will run NES , SNES , N64 Gamecube and Revolution games , so that makes it illegal to have a copy of the game without owning the original one or buying it from the Revolution Marketplace.

Yes, but the Nintendo Revolution is not "available in the commercial marketplace" therefore the roms are not illegal...

yet.

About time someone posted this sleep.gif
I thought of it before it was out, same with PSP, if you can access the web or content on a pc theres many possibiltys.

now the thing I dont get is why you are having troubles making a rom selection list  blink.gif

I've been using Potato & NesCafe for years, you can play mame roms too biggrin.gif

I was also working with some java dev kits to make these work on my Cell phone cool.gif
having issues with the menus on my Moto v600

I got everything set up and it runs but i got the message box from MMC stating "NOT DESIGNED FOR MEDIA CENTER" and i cannot move the button to click on dont ask me again and or vew now. What should i do?

thanx in advanced.

Read the first post.  You need to create another .mcl file that just links to a site like google and then you can check that box.  I posted a link to an .mcl (That you put in the same locations) that will browse the xbox-scene homepage and allow you to check the box.  I think it's on page 2.

Hey Xexter, how did you get the emu to run in MC? I would like to know so that I can put different programs into MC.

Basically the NESCafe Java Application is embeded in an HTML file that is then linked to a .MCL file that Media Center reads and displays.  (It wasn't rocket science)  The Big deal was finding out what xbox controller buttons map to what keyboard keys when you press them.  I included the Xbox Controller Map so everyone would know what keys were mapped in the emulator as well as what buttons press what keys.  People should be able to use it in other apps, sites, etc by sticking to that map.

The Rom selection list will need to be activated and then post back to the nes.htm page with the selection.  If you can do it, by all means go for it.  There isn't anything stopping you from editing the stuff I posted and adding a menu.  I will be working on that today, but if you beat me to it more power to ya!

PotatoMulti will not work yet, have you even tried to create a local copy of it and getting it to display in a browser?

Sounds like you need to focus your attention and help us out!

Your LAN speed is going to be the big key for this to work.  This is basically an RDP session to the media center box so it is sending video/keyboard commands to the media center.  So it is having to send each paint of the window to the Xbox over the network...

Actually I think some of them could still be illegal as Nintendo Released Zelda, Zelda II, Super Mario Brothers, Ice Climber, Excitebike and others in their Classics collections for the GBA. They are still selling these games on not so obsolete hardware (GameBoy)

You're absolutely right.  The only counter I have for that argument is that Nintendo only released a limited number of games (12, i think).  Other less popular titles (Lifeforce, Shatterhand, etc.) were never released.  I believe there are 525 titles for the original NES.  My collection is right at 400 at the moment.

And Xexter, Colecovision rocks too!  My son and I love the classics.  great job on the controller map.

GREAT JOB.

As for the legality comments, WHO CARES..This site has been good about keeping its members from giving illegal files or posting illegal sites.  But lately (since the 360 came out) all these little kids (that's anyone under 16) have been flooding this site with stupid comments and annoying flaming.  Honestly if you have nothing good say or something to contribute then don't say anything.  There should be some type of filer to filter them out because its getting to much for the moderators.

BTW read the section regarding Original Hardware. That can easily be interpreted in your favour. A rom image of an NES cart is not the same as rereleased games on a GBA. That rom image belongs to a cart for which the original hardware would be required to run, and since the NES is 1: No longer manufactured 2: No longer on store shelves, that makes it perfectly acceptable to have a backup of that particular cart in rom format on your hard drive.
Just because Nintendo decides to re-release games on a different platform, doesn't make those games magically exempt. They are not the original data, or the original form. You couldn't play them on a real NES for example.

Hi. it does't run on my german MCE and it wasn't show in the MCE-More Programs so i change the folder name to this: C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\All Users\Startmenü\Programme\Zubehör\Media Center\Media Center-Programme  In this folder are the extracted files from the rar archive.

Now it is shown in MCE-More Programs, but it didn't run. The pic in where the emu run is still white. The menu ist still shown. The same ist on xbox360 MC. It ist shown, but runs like in the MCE.

If i copy the nes emu on my desktop and run it, it still works fine.

What ist this????

Sorry but my englisch is not the best, so i hope you can follw my words.

Well, I'm trying to code a webpage that will allow us to load any rom from a list. It works on my PC, but I can't find any information to allow me to navigate it on my 360 (select a link/button and submit).

Someone know how to do that?

The problem is we can't navigate with the controller to select a link in the webpage. I'm messing with the MCE SDK example to see if I can use them.

I finally did it! But you still have to manually edit one file to add your rom to the list. But at least now, you don't have to edit the nes.htm file every time you want to change your rom. I'm working a little on the layout then I'll release a first version of it (should be tonight).

The next step is to code a batch file to create the Rom list automaticly.

Hey, this is great work with the NES emu. Before I get my hopes up too much, is there any possibility of something like this coming out for SNES and even N64, or is that just not really possible at the moment with java or anything?
