Is There Any Possible Way At All
« on: March 24, 2006, 08:21:00 PM »

Okay, I've tried installing Media Center XP on my computer. Worked, but when I attempted to fully install the extender, it kept saying, "Is not compatible with Dynamic Disk" or something. I ended up going back to my original XP Pro Service Pack 2, so as a result, I'm stuck with Media Connect.

Now, I know Media Connect does have built in video playback compatibility, however the 360 will not allow it, but is there some way, some hack, some program, some anything that may get the 360 into recognizing it? Or is there any way to format videos to fool the system into thinking it's audio?

I don't care about TV playback through the 360 or anything. I don't care about any of those features other than video playback. If you guys could answer my question or perhaps do you know the problem with the dynamic disk thing and how to fix it?

- Much thanks,
NJ Pelli

Yes--

I was thinking about buying the OEM version of XP MCE and installing on my XP SP2 to get the video thing to work.  I haven't done it yets so I can't help you but I guess you are saying that it didn't work.  I'm really curious to know if there is anyway to make that work.  Could I wipe my hard driveand just install XP MCE on there?

Of course that would be a huge pain.

i tried to do half-assed upgrades and installs of MCE2005 and all gave me errors when  I had to instal .net framework 1.1. So i did a clean install and have had no errors whatsoever. then i found out what a pain it was to stream non .wmv or .mpg files to it and im going back to professional in a week or so.

There's got to be a way to stream to an Xbox 360 from Windows XP
I'm thinking of some sort of virtual device...
Or editing the visualizations so that they show video?
