Transcode 360 System Requirements

I'm runing transcode 360/MCE on my inspiron 5100 laptop streaming to my xbox 360 and video is a bit choppy. It is a P4 2.4Ghz and has 384MB RAM. Will upgrading the RAM solve this problem or do I need more proccessing power?
