Runtime posted some info about the upcoming build of Transcode 360(info):

Sorry for the lack of updates people. I am busy with a new release and plan on holding onto it for a bit longer until I can add a couple more features. At the moment the new build mostly consists of improvements in the install process and stuff to help folks with network access and codec problems.

Are there any features you'd like to see added?

In related news, I have in the meantime established a good rappor with the author of My Movies, and once folks are happy with the ease of install for T360, I'm pretty sure I will have the go ahead to implement integration with My Movies.

There was some question over whether we might use VLC to perform the transcoding instead of Windows Media Encoder. Updated: The next build almost certainly won't support VLC, but it does seem to address a number of issues; although there are still a couple of things I need to clear up concerning picture quality.

Any possibility of a rewind/ff?

Also when I try to stop a movie, I get the options 'delete, resume, something else', and then I need to restart transcode on my PC.

My Movies integration sounds awesome. Can't wait to see how that turns out in the future. biggrin.gif

For the current build, it would be great if it would be easier to set the quality of the transcoded video easily through a GUI as opposed to editing the .prx files. 480p transcoded videos look good now on my 1080i set but it would be nice to see what a 720p resolution video would look like.

Text editing prx files?  Profiles can be edited using the Windows Encoder Profile Editor  tongue.gif

Manually choosing prx file?  Just edit the config file and set it to some high bitrate.  It'll only use transcode 360.prx file after that.

::My Wishlist::
I want to queue multiple files for transcoding.... automatically transcode one file after another w/o user intervention.... or is there a way to do this already?  just got a xbox, so i'm newbie unsure.gif

i am so excited about watching divx and such files on x360

cant understand what to do tho.

i installed codecs, installed transcode..then?
i assume i should launh media connect and media center..let's say once im in media center on my tv having it working on my xbox 360..what do i do at that point?

do i start transcode? (till now it gave a problem and stopped.."found exception" bullshit) then what sould i do? do u think it is a codec problem?
if i didnt have that error message should i just lanch transcode and go to pick one of the movie files shared inside mce? i mean: lanch it from the xbox360 Media center and it should work instead of telling me that the format's not supported??

PLEASE HELP ME. you are being totally obscure to a normal person!!!! and you understand how exciting it is to be able to watch stuff on the x360!!

WRITE A STEP BY STEP SOMETHING PLEASE!!!!
grazie, ciao!

ensakamoto, how about you check out the help file that comes with the program.

Also have a look at the original thread here.

I think this thread is for suggestions for the new version.

I think fast forward/rewind would be pretty cool.
