Hello,


I am trying get transcode to work but I get this message when I start transcode:

transcode 360 exception: value cannot be null

I reinstalled the codecs but it doesnt seem to work, pleaseee help me.

If it was really that easy I would have succeeded by this time.

It's been nearly 10 days and I still cdon't have a "transcode" item in my menu (neither on MCE PC nor my extender)

And nobody (even the developer) seems to be interested in my problem.

I STILL DON'T HAVE a TRANSCODE ITEM ON THE INFO MENU.

now do you still say it's very simple ? Some people have problems with this software. it's not as easy as your setup for some of us.

In the media centre PCyou right click the file and select more,it thenbrings up the Transcode window.You then just click the Transcodeicon and it should work.

I first had some problems with the logon with the service... now thats fixed and the service starts, but then this error appears.... any suggestion what could be wrong? doesnt say which file it tries to access..

saw that spezz got the same error, but he didnt realy tell the solution for it...

Actually there is no "more" in the menu when I right click the file.
The addin is not installed successfully.

btw: installed only ffshow... then only xvid then xvid and divx... same thing.... got the transcode icon on the xbox but nothing happens when I try to start the movie with it.

OK, Excuse my dumbassery and Laziness(maybe?). Ive installed transcoder, running wmc2005,wmp9 encoder and  installed xvid and divix. I have made sure the services is running, switch it to local, so the services runs fine.
When I browse to my xvid in my videos on the xbox, I hit more on the video, and its just sits there with the transcoder icon highlighted. I have a feeling Im missing something real easy considering most of these replies actually are about the transcode is running . Mine will not even do anything, just sits there with the icon highlighted.

ive gotten the transcode 360 to work for the past week, however this morning when i tried to stream a new video it gave me the transcoding timed out message. Then i tried playing it on a file that i have played before and i still get the same message...ive also reinstalled all the codecs and transcode 360 itself, but im still getting the same message? someone please help?!

guys just installed Transcode 360, then went into services to start the service, and get error 1068 " the dependency service or group failed to start" any ideas?

hi tried the mce transcode thingy works well but i used it coz i couldnt get the transcode to install always said credentials... cant be verified...
i installed mce one and just install the xpcodecs.... i found that when i use the divx ones thet it freezes my xbox and mce becuase of the thumbnails as where xp codecs have ffdshow and it doesnt do that
the only thing i didnt like aobout the software mce one is u have to click info then more progs then start encode then play to many executions i would like to have just one button on the remote that actually executes everything for me......

I hope transcodes next build will work a treat as i like simple things great work to all

Hey everyone, new poster and new to the 360 scene, only got one about 2 days ago.
So anyway ive managed to get transcode to work, at first it didnt but after reading this thread and following the ideas of many, it finally works! its a great program.
I have a problem tho, my computer isnt the greatest and the videos are a bit jittery and slow...not REALLY slow, but slow enough to annoy, like skipping every second frame or sumthing i guess u could say. Would it be that i dont have enough RAM for my computer to keep up, the extender says the computer is running at 100% when i transcode? Is it more reliant on RAM then the CPU itself?? IF sumone has any pointers on what i can do to fix it, or if its just hardware, let me know, im willing to buy more RAM for this fantastic product!
