A Media Center Skin?
« on: January 21, 2006, 12:31:00 AM »

I dont know if this is interesting to anyone but I thought it was neat. This guy skinned the MCE interface. I'm curious if this would work on the 360?

I have made several custom skins for MCE 2005 but do not want to distribute these files
if they contain anything other than Visual and audio effects.

I am pretty slick with graphics but not coding, and there are alot of XML files
in this dll file.

I have only modified .PNG files and .WAV files inside of ehres.dll.

The last thing I want is someone to use this file and end up with links to things they do not have installed, or references to specific things on my MCE PC.

I added the new files to the dll with

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)  Actually ,  If you use this program u can change a lot of features in MCE.   I was able to do mine and when I start media center on the xbox everything is changed there too.   good for people who are tired of the blue background  and want to personalize it a bit .

yay, first post in the 1 1/2 yeas I've been a member- ( I'll only post if I something to contribute, not for questions that have been asked 1000 times and answered repetedly,  Reading is the key!!!!!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Well unless it changes the blades too then i dont really see the point. You can easily change your background on the xbox to whatever you want by plugging in a USB stick with pics on it or stream pics from your pc and set them as the background.

So what does this allow you to do for the 360? Would you need Media Center to do it?

Ther are 2 programs to theme MCE

I wrote MyThemesMCE, if you like features then this is for you: The first post is about me, but its a very old post from last year.

Then ther is MCE Dev's MCE Themes.

You decide what you like.

both do.

MyThemes has a hotkey to do it at anytime. Plus the uninstaller will remove any modifications.
