Changing Xbox Game Region Directly On Xbe?
« on: August 12, 2010, 04:29:00 AM »

Hi!,

Sorry if this is not the correct forum to post this, but did not find any suitable one for this question.

I own a xbox 360 and want to play some xbox games that do not let me do it because of using VGA cable (you know the message... HD VGA cable does not support .... ). So, I have been reading of people saying that ussually this games are compatible if they support Pal 60, what leads me to think... is there anyway to change xbox game region and refresh rate modifying the .xbe to trick the 360 emulator to think it can play the game?.

Thanks in advance,
HexDump.

You can't modify an xbe and still launch it unless you have a jtag/devkit

If it is jtagged as you said, then making a game region free is simple:

1. install xextool application
2. start the wx360 application and open game image, select the default.xex file and export it to the same dir as xextool was installed to.
3. start a command prompt, navigate to your xextool directory, run "xextool -r r default.xex"  to patch the xex file to be region free.
4. go back to wx360, import the patched default.xex back into the image again
5. contert image to GOD package or burn to dvd

I'm not using hdmi so not sure about your second question.
