Game Problems With Freeboot
« on: May 11, 2010, 04:00:00 PM »

I have a launch unit and had XBR3 on it.  I would try to play Darksiders and a couple other games and it would freeze up.  Darksiders would freeze up as soon as game play started. So I used Easy Freeboot V2.0. and still get the same problem with Darksiders.

I followed the instructions for installation without original dump.  I do have an original dump with a couple of bad blocks,  should I have used it?

Are there any patches?  Please help!

Thanks

are you sure the freezing is game related?

typically, repetitive lockups are pre-RRoD symptoms.

What I'm about to say is probably against what most ppl say here is bad.

I don't play games extracted to usb or hdd because they can sometimes glitch or give you a dirty disc error.

I have personally experienced this with multiple games:

- Silent Hill Homecomming
- Prototype (Freeze while playing game)
- Need for Speed Undercoer

Just to name a few.

When I riped these games via NXE and patched them with NXE2GOD, all issues left and I have't had any at all.

Just to let you know my experiences and decisions that made it better.

You may also use ISO2GOD and it might not fail, I don't know.

i have played through several games myself metro 2033, mass effect 2, fairytale fights, final fantasy 13 bioshock 2, bad company 2, forza 3, and several others all extracted to folders...look around this is sometimes a bad format of the usb hd or bad copy of the game xbr/freeboot plays extracted folders fine for the majority of games with that said i have noticed problems getting orange box and gun (360 version) to load but that does not mean there was an issue playing i never got that far...it seems that the games i have issues with have an odd format when you look at the file/folder structure for example i think orange box extracts like 17 xex for some reason personally i think this guy's issue is not related to that stuff nwayz sounds like that 360 can't handle darksiders which i find amusing but the things are pretty crappy

just a side note here is the method i use I first extract the iso with backup creator running wine in ubunut 9.10 then i extract the folders use image browser again using wine so far i got no unreadable disc using this method and this is after 4 months of running xbr 3..

honestly my guess is that ur copy is either scratched or corrupted somehow (savefile corrupt maybe or av settings?) I would try a re dl and see if that helps....
