ok right i understand, but what do you do if you dont have another 360 hdd availiable? would you be able to upload a copy for me? that would be great. thx

hi,

just google for xdev HDD Compatibility Partition Fixer, but dont ask me any questions about, i never used it.
Also read that it could possibly erease all data on the hdd.

XeXMenu(info)'s FTP won't see the Partition until there's a file on it, so copy a file via XeXMenu on it and it will be shown via FTP too.

Sorry to say but running XBMC through linux was already done months ago and using modified xefu's / changing title id's to run Xbox 1 homebrew also.. So what's new and you could give credit to the people who made this possible in the first place..

There are several versions of the xb1 emu, i think 8 in total.

That is just the problem, there are too many. Hopefully someone will just come forth and put 1 out that will just work. If there ever was a time, now is the time being the new possibilities to use xbox 1 in GoD.

However, it is nice to know that with just the Avalaunch dash some of the things can be launched.

The homebrew community as we seen on The Xbox1 will never happen here. 80 percent of the Xbox 360s
out there cannot be hacked/Jtaged, Plus I dont even think XBMC was ported to Power PC yet. As far as the Homebrew Community goes It will never be as big and we might never see XBMC running and ported!

This is all true, but if ever a new exploit comes out, that 80% turns to 0%. Still, even if a new exploit is released and everyone can jtag, I still don't see XBMC coming to 360 (not with native hardware support).  This however is less dramatic to Home Theatre PC (HTPC) than 8 years ago. A HTPC can be had in a very affordable form factor compared to 8 years ago, and it would be better than the 360 anyhow. XBMC on 360 would be nice, but is it really as dire as it was in 2002?

Anyhow, I'd rather see VideoLAN with a HTML browser interface (easily skinable by all). XBMC I love, still use it almost everyday on xbox1, but it has nothing over VideoLAN today. The current XBMC is in my opinion too bloated and too buggy (the best version I have ever ran has a 2004 build date).

I believe there is a PPC version of VideoLAN, so I got my fingers crossed.

Because there was no way to boot it on a retail console before?

BTW, looks like the hacked frontend that lets you set emulation options is missing from the package.

the nfo:

Xbox1 Backwards Compatibility v5829 for Devkits

               HACKED VERSION!! biggrin.gif

:: Overview

This is a devkit version of the retail xbox360 backwards compatibility that
was released November 2007.

To install this, copy the Compatibilty folder to your devkits Y drive.
You may want to remove any existing files, although this should overwrite
all files.

This version has been hacked to play unsupported games, however this doesn't
mean they will work. This release includes a hacked version of the official
frontend, however you may want to try my replacement frontend which allows
you to set emulation options for each game.

At the moment there are 556 officially supported games, (ie games that should work
100% or close to it). A list of these games is available here:

  http://www.xbox.com/...tygameslist.htm

:: Hacks

I've attempted to remove any limits on the emulator, although i left in game
ratings checks in case you dont want your little ones to play violent games smile.gif
This can be toggled in the dashboard anyway. The following hacks were done to
the emulator:

   * Xbe signature checks removed (lets you run unsigned code)
   * Xbe section hash checks removed (lets u run hacked xbes)
   * Game region checks removed (region free baby!)
   * Game media checks removed (play games from your hard drive)
   * Debug/Devkit xbes supported (run your own xbox1 code)
   * Attempt to play unsupported games (doesn't mean it will work hehe)
