Agree + its better to code it to the new xbox 360 SDK C++, allows more features.

Yeah. But Team XBMC says that wont be possible to run XBMC on xbox360 for a lot of graphic reasons and there's no way to acess the GPU stuff.

Someone please help-me here. .. my xbox1 emu isnt running : /

I'v copied all Xefu files to ( HDD/compatibility folder )  Burned the Avalaunch disc. But fails on boot the disc.

First a message saying  ( My version of emulator is 1.0 )  So i'v downloaded an update and now is showing  (  Not possible to iniciate the game .Download Again  message )

Very cool man !! Now maybe people will stop asking ''CAN I HAZ XBMC ON MA 360 ?!?!?!''

Lol !! Now i need REALLY need to get my Jtagg'ed xbox back from the repair shop !!

How stable is it and have you confirmed it plays movies ?? Can you access the in game Guide while using XBMC ?? Are ANY features broken in it ??

Also, we need to make an XBMC 360 skin now !!

Stable, no movies, no game guide, no network.  I know this from this thread lol.

If people think that the XBMC team haven't tried out various workarounds, they are dumb.  From the very beginning XBMC have said its a hardware problem for video playback, and that most of the code has to be re written as the hardware is completely different.  So, by running XBMC you are basically running a fancy GUI that doesn't (really) do anything.  Like a keygen that makes no key.  Its a media centre that doesnt play media.  This is cool, but kinda useless.  Unless im missing something...

Farmboy

Can you enable debug logging in xbmc and post a xbmc.log after trying to play a video file
I'll take a look and talk to some devs, maybe we can find a solution or at least an idea of whats failing

I'm away from this stuff for a couple more days to test myself

Thanks for finding this by the way

hmmm, how about using this avalaunch disc to run other xbox classic games that are not supported by the emulator. Has anyone tried this yet?

You are still limited to running on the xbox 360's xbox 1 emulation, as you are modifying the title of avalaunch to halo so it can run, so I am pretty sure you cannot run classic xb1 games unless you modify all the titles, which even then, you will still run into problems. Maybe when we unlock emulator a bit more, it will allow us for a lot more support, but I don't see it happening any time soon. But this is great news, people seem to be making more and more progress with homebrew on the 360 every day which is great.

Wrong, someone did get it to boot in Linux Mode, but absolutely nothing worked.  Couldnt even navigate in the program, no 3D acceleration etc. And the last time someone tried to modify the xbe code, it didnt work because we werent hacked as we are now.

He at least got it to boot with that, and it's just a matter of time to modify some XBMC code to get Videos playing. He has audio working the program. He said so on eurasia.

He just use other people methods to run unsigned xbox 1 homebrew which was possible before, I just asked what's new atm?..And like others said it's still limited because it uses the emulator..Don't even considering the Xbox 360 architecture..

This has been known for quite some time but it wasn't here  since its very buggy but was at xboxhacker.

Basically, modifying Avalaunch's title id to Halo's means the Xbox 1 emulator is booting Avalaunch using Halo's setting profile for the emulator.

The problem? Anything you launch from within Avalaunch is also using Halo's emulation profile due to the title id used to boot Avalaunch.

I've not tried this yet but rather than burning discs it would be easier and much preferable to make Xbox Originals containers for Xbox 1 emulators and apps with modified title ids. It's just a matter of finding the best working emulation profile (title id) for a specific emulator or app but using it for dashboards is kind of useless since your stuck with just one title id even when launching from within the dash.

I have a feeling it's not this simple but would there be any way to give the emulator some more power? Just hack it to allow more ram and cpu?

How about all those great emulators on the Xbox 1, did or could anyone test a few of those on the Xbox 360 and how did Surreal 64 work this way, did it run like on an Xbox 1 or also with problems?

There are so many wonderful emulators on the Xbox 1 which are perfect imho and don't need better hardware, would be nice if they could be used that way on the Xbox 360 too  smile.gif
