U6t1 Bridged But Kernel Updated
« on: March 09, 2010, 11:24:00 PM »

k so i bridged the U6t1 like in other posts, i soldered all my jtag points, then my son by mistake after i told him not to touch my $#!t, played a game which updated my kernnel
from 2.0.7363.0  to 8955 i was so pissed and i thought that by joining both points that my efuse and kernel would not upgrade, can someone please tell me if i am screwed
to jtag my unit, the update happen via disk when he went to play 2k10

thanks

nothing you said makes sense you don't hook the wires up nor do you bridge u6t1 unless you have modified your 360 already it not size a very old dashboard would it even boot with that bridged , and it definitely won't with Jtag wires hooked up and no XBR flash.
If you just aren't explaining correctly and you do have it Jtagged already , then you just updated to have Avatars. Another point to make is that when you do the mod it is supposed to say 8955 , XBR is a patched version of the newest Dashboard. You also shouldn't really attach the Jtag wires unless you have checked your CB and know it is exploitable the dash version doesn't guarantee it , it is just the first thing too check before you read your NAND.

I guess u did not read my post, read again, Like i said i bought a new xbox with older dash,
i wired my jtag getting ready to dump my bin once i receive the usb spi
but my son did not listen and showed off to his freinds, he palyed 2k10 the disk updated my old dash which never saw live, so my question was since this was going to be the first time reading the nand on this unit,
am i out of luck since the disk updated my kernel, this unit has never saw an xbr so there is not poitn in avatars, this is a new xbox

So you did the hardware side of it? But didn't actually get as far as installing XBR? (Because if you had XBR you would be running kernel 8955 (Emulated fuses) so the standard 8955 update wouldn't have run anyway.

AFAIK you don't bridge anything, just remove a little resistor, I've also read it isn't guaranteed to stop the burning of fuses.

If your Xbox now boots in to the original 8955 dash/kernel without any errors then yes you're fucked as for that dash to boot properly it has to have burnt the fuse.

Otherwise if your Xbox now refuses to boot or displays an error you're in luck as chances are it's installed the original 8955 dash/kernel but failed to burn the fuse so it's refusing to boot. You should (In theory) be able to extract your KV/Config and flash XBR to resurrect it.

Yea you bridge u6t1 , you don't have to remove the resistor and it is supposed to be more safe than removing r6t3 , and much easier also. And yes if it boots you are fucked , if it errors wait and flash it with XBR.
And yes i read your original post , you did not explain that you were waiting on and SPI flasher  go re-read your own post , hooking up the 3 wire Jtag setup would render your machine unbootable until it were flashed , and that is what you said you did. I think people are confused about what Jtag even means , Jtag is the port you are connecting when you attach those 3 wires.

Some 360s boot with jtag attached to pre nxe legit dashes, mine was one of them.

My pre NXE Xenon boots fine with the JTag hack.  For a minute there, I thought I didn't install the wires correctly b/c that person said the console wouldn't boot if JTag is done without flashing .

My kernel is currently 2.0.6683.0 (December 2007 Update).  I'm awaiting for the USB SPI flasher as well.

So is it okay to go ahead and bridge the u6t1 before read/writing NAND?  After bridging the points will still be possible to update XBR?

Also, are the Dashboards automatically updated through LIVE/Games?  B/c I thought you had to confirmed yes/no to update the dash.

Will you please post a picture of your work?  The actual bridging you did?

I see your binned post on xboxhacker, can you just post a picture so we can all see if you actually correctly bridged the right points?

If you did, and what others have said related to bridging working just like removing the resistor is correct 8955 should NEVER have been able to updated.  Well the NAND could be updated with 8955 technically, but the efuse would not have been able to be burned which 8955 checks on boot, and since your 8955 boots successfully then it was burned.

Please post the pictures of your work.

For others:

Every Jasper that I have modified will boot fine with JTAG in place with original dash.

i remember reading that xbr emulates the fuses therefore allowing it to boot when it is removed the small resister thing so if you done it right your xbox should not be working lol
