I was wondering if the content on my Xbox HDD will become unusable in the event that I put it into another 360 console. Is it "tied" to a specific console when I downloaded everything or will it work on any 360 as long as the gamertag the content is tied to (which is on the same HDD) stays intact?

The reason for asking is that I have been given the offer to trade my non HDMI 360 for one that has HDMI, and would like to keep the games stored on the HDD. unsure.gif

Games you've installed from disc will need to be removed and reinstalled.

XBLA games and GoDs can be relicensed to your new console using the license transfer tool (on the Xbox website).

You can also use a transfer cable for your offline profiles, saves, avatar stuff etc. to transfer to a newer hard drive

I wouldn't go that far. To be honest, I've only owned a 360 for the better part of a week. I'm still brushing up on knowledge. It's not quite the olden days of Softmodded Xbox1's afterall happy.gif

Microsoft supply you with official HDD migration kits with larger HDDs. Since content is never tied to an individual HDD, not only is it irrelevant, it's moot.  wink.gif
