I thought I read somewhere that you can access xbmc using a web browser??

Is this true?

I tried typing in the ip address of my xbox but I get nothing displayed.

In Win XP, IE and the File Manager type systems are linked and provide FTP access.

ftp://xbox:[email protected]

Of course there's also the ability to control XBMC via a web interface. You might try the sticky, there is an online instruction manual Here: http://manual.xboxmediacenter.de/wakka.php?wakka=Index - look under Advanced for the info on Webserver functionality and make sure it's enabled in your settings/xml - or whereever they put it now.

He's talking about the web server function.

Look in the settings, somewhere in there you have to enable it. Once it is enabled, just type the IP address of your xbox in IE and it'll come up with all the controls. <

Make sure you have a web folder in your xbmc folder.
(also check the files there so they are unrared...) <

Yep - its the web access that I need - I tried to enable and save and the Xbox just hangs.

What files do I need in the web folder? <
