No converting needed.  I downloaded the smallest video for each game and renamed it preview.wmv and put them in the appropriate folders in hdd:\fsdata\game name.  They all play fine in Freestyle dash

hotfile was just too restrictive.

If I download the HD version of a trailer and then re-encode it in say 720 x 480 will that be still playable smoothly on freestyle dash?

Yep settings work fine converting a HD trailer over. I also did the sd video as well and made a duplicate foler but slightly renamed and you can't tekk the difference on my 52 inch plasma. It is a lot bigger so I will be sticking with SD videos.
