Jtag System Always Asking For Live Update?
« on: February 05, 2010, 11:09:00 AM »

I have a non-banned JTag'd 360
whenever I log into my OFFLINE profile (one that i created that did not ever log into live) it always pops up and tells me i need an update from live.
Even though in the system options i have live access blocked and the profile (when it was on another machine) never went on live. it still asks for this.

Why is that, and how do i get rid of it?
There is a $system update folder on my hard drive, could that be the issue?

Yes my avatars are still showing up.
the JTAG was and old RROD that I fixed.
The HD is from my banned lite on system. but it was a 250gb homebrew. so i still had the 20gb hard drive (pre-ban)
I just copied the profiles off the non-banned HD over to a Memory card. deleted the banned profiles off the 250gb drive and then copied the good ones from the MC over to the 250.
that took care of my "corrupted profile" issue.
but whenever i sign into the offline profile, it wants me to do a live update.
idk.

any other thoughts besides avatars?

it should only be the avatar update if your really want to install it use a new game with the 8955 update on it or use a usb stick with the update on it. also if your trying to go on live i highly surgest you dont you will be banned in minutes

I can see my avatar already from old hd.  Hmm, it's not asking for an update, states it needs to add information to console, from old hd maybe?

don't do this, that will break your jtag compatibility.

Mine says :
"To connect to Xbox Live, Information must be added to your console. You can't sign in to xbox live if you don't accept this update. Do you want to sign into xbox live?"

This is despite the fact that i've disabled live access in the settings menu.

I've cleared the cache on my HD. and I've deleted the file in the $systems update folder.
How do i fix this issue without messing up my JTAG?

afaik that should be perfectly normal. Just hit no and you can use it as normal. just out of curiosity did you install the avatar support update by any chance?

My friend clicked YES, before I could tell him not to... nothing bad happened.
Later, I clicked yes cuz it was annoying.... nothing bad happened.

This is on my unbanned JTAG Xenons. I have 2 w00t.

Just disable Live access. And if you really wanna be safer, just unplug the network cable. But as far as it seems to me, it might just add some information to the Xbox concerning your account for Live. It did *NOT* mess anything up on my consoles.

I do want to install the Avatar update though, I'd like to see me again.
