QUOTE(russianfats0 @ Dec 30 2009, 07:24 PM) View Post

A couple of months ago, i had a friend who offered to flash my xbox so that i can play his games (copied). Now, I don't want to risk getting banned but i do want to go online onto xbox live. So the question arises: First of all, is it possible to do some sort of restore to get rid of the modification? I want to go back to the way i got the xbox from the box, and i have even purchased a game (there goes 60$) to play on live.
The only problem is that i am, as you would put it, a newb. This friend is currently out of town and it is unclear when he will be back. Can you guys help me out?
I also found a thread that discussed the fact that M$ doesn't ban people for firmware. However, said topic was dated to 2006. Has anything changed?
I have never gone onto Live, and the games that I have were stealth patched/checked with ABGX360.
I would like your guys's help in going Legal  biggrin.gif

I have no idea if if this is true or not and  i don't feel like experimenting with my xbox, people say that you can go on Live no problem if you BOUGHT the game, and still have a flashed drive. Is this true?
Anyways, thanks for all the help I will get in advance smile.gif

russianfatty

the fact is that you can restore your drive and there is a  possibility that you wont be banned but nobody knows... if there has been a backup/burnt game played in your system (either offline or on) even if they were stealth verified whatever (which nothing was stealth because thousands of people who played stealth verified 1:1 backups still got banned) there is a chance you will get banned.. the only way to be 100% sure is to get a new never modified untouched xbox

You could do full clean restores if you dumped your nand the day you bought the box.

Simply dump and flash Ix

When you want to go back to stock, flash the drive back to stock then flash your original (current) dump.

Of course, with ever ongoing updates you would have to reflash the current version so you don't brick it. By that I mean when you get prompted to update, decline it and flash back your nand to the clean version, update then dump the nand deleting the previous one so you don't accidently write that one back.

It would be a time consuming process but should you decide to go back to stock you would have a 100% unflagged Xbox smile.gif
