With backups theres always that chance, weather they are on the hdd or not doesnt matter because the xbox still checks the disk every so often.

Yup, xbox doesnt check the hdd for the security checks. It checks the disk. The only thing installing games to the hdd does it makes the xbox more quite, less wear on dvd drive, and longer load times on most games.
