Not Emulation, But Mounted Games
« on: April 16, 2009, 06:03:00 PM »

There are plenty of games that you are able to download off of the market place that are basically executables. Is there a way to modify an emulator to instead be a mounted executable file? This in theory should work, but not enough people have tried so Im not sure what I can do to get it to work effectivly.

I have a couple questions about how the directory structure works and how the OS plays the executables.

Does the OS play like Windows? example: when you have an exturnal hard drive with a game, what is the file type?

When you have a file that runs on the emulator ZSNES, when you use the file does it still access the emulator? Or is it only able to be ran as an executable file and each game would have to be mounted individually?

Thanks Much, any info will help. Im about to go buy an exturnal SATA mount so I can start seeing what I can do with the file structure.

Unless you can figure out how to run unsigned code, then its not possible. People are working on this and progress is being made very slowly. Hopefully one day this will be possible.
