Xbox 360 Media Center Extender Over Internet
« on: November 03, 2007, 08:06:00 PM »

Alright I have my home network with a windows vista media center, three laptops, two desktops, and two 360's that stream television and videos off of it.

my room mate is moving to a different dorm on campus, but still wants to watch television through his 360 at his house.

I have a linksys router at the head of my local LAN, which attaches to the university's internet. Connecting to his dorm is a local connection (meaning a 100mbit connection) so speed is not an issue. I'm wondering how to go about tunneling his 360 connection to my local lan, and tricking his 360 into thinking it's still at my place.

Any ideas?

I am a little confused by your description exactlty where the 360's are vs the houses and whatnot, but you will probably need a computer between each 360 and the net running some sort of tunnel...

You could try just using xlink kai or something, make a private room and put both boxes in that room, they should be then tunneled... not sure if it will work for MCE stuff but who knows...
