I would like to know if anyones tried halo 3 and if the disk contains any updates on it?
Ive been reading about a new firmware update on XBL and just cruious if the halo 3 disc contains a update or not

there r no updates on the disc.... and at the moment there r no updates via Xbox live.

played it and no update, but the game graphics and game played is the same as halo 2. very disapointing

no update on disc...but i just stopped playing and restarted and was prompted with a console update...not doing it

IMO whoever says the graphics r the same as Halo 2 needs to get there eyes check or maybe try playing halo 2 again after u've played halo 3.

did you played halo 2? if you did then you would know halo3 graphics are the same as halo 2 just with higher res. recheck for eyes, or maybe you havent even played halo 3

Well damn i guess u've convinced....  i've never played H2 and and when i said there was no updates on the disc i guess was just lying.

there is a new "dash update"....  as far as they r saying its for the new controller and that its not falls update.

well I dont connect to XBL so if I get this right theres no update on the disk.. so I guess theres nothing for me to worry about.

Just got the game, but when inserted it asks to update, im not connected online and never been for many many months.
Is it safe to run update from the disc?

Halo 3 is much better than Halo 2 gameplay & story wise.  The graphics are slightly better (namely effects, dynamic landscape, and particles), but they did reuse most of the character models since it would not make sense to start adding polys and crap where it doesn't belong.  The maps feel professionally done this time at nearly every step.  Plus the music is better and more appropriately timed than in halo 2.

Also the update is the same update you get from connecting to live and is safe for now.

YES!!! I got halo 3 about 30 minuets ago and it HAS AN UPDATE ON THE DISK.

I reverted my firmware to the original so that I would not get banned just incase.

The update however is not a Dash update, it just seems to be a game update like any other.
