Backup Hard/soft-ware Tools & Vista
« on: February 01, 2007, 11:24:00 AM »

I am considering upgrading my PC to Vista, but Im not sure how that will affect my Ripping drive (Samsung SH-D162C), my burning drive (Pioneer 111D), and all the software I use inbetween (Xbox Backup Creator, DVD Decrypter, ImgBurn...etc)

Anyone have any insight here?

Do you guys think vista will have an adverse affect on the tools used for backing up 360 games?

does your samsung sdwhatever drive work properly in vista?

I have mine hooked up to a sil0680r raid ide card, and it locks up Vista boot sequence.
I tested adding each one of my drives one by one til i found the culprit. It was my samsung sdsomething.
When I unpluged it, it would boot up. Plug it in, wouldn't boot.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I'm gonna try to hook up the samsung right to the mobo instead of the sil card, see if that helps.

any info would be great.
thanks

even with XP, the sh-d162c will not work in all config, sometime it need master/salve, sometime master/secondary, or for some it works on added cards, or in Usb enclosure. It is really a trial/error process to find its comfort position.

well after moving my samsung from the PCI IDE card to the motherboard all is well.

I haven't tested backing up/burning a game, but I'll do that later .
