I haven't been able to connect to live through my computer's wireless connection. It fails at icmp retest and fails at mtu. The only reason I'm even interested in live is for the updates and maybe some downloads since I have a satellite connection and trying to play online would be a waste of time and money. However, since this seems to be more trouble than it's worth I was wondering if I can download updates elsewhere and install via disk or usb drive.
I've checked ms site with no results.

Some updates you can download and burn to a disc like the backwards compatibility disc.

BTW, I used to live in BFE and satellite was our only option for internet (besides dial-up). How much do you pay for for your satellite connection?

EDIT: Off topic, but I went to school with 3 brothers with the last name of spyvie (not spelled that way though) and they all grew up in the country. You aren't from KWVA are you?

Well i finally have service again. I knew there would be trouble when the leaves grew since the dumbass originally pointed the dish at a giant tree. Anyway, it costs about 70 bucks a month for 1 meg down and i think it's 256k up. Direcway (Hugesnet) customer service licks the hairy bean bag. My service was out since may 27 and degraded for about two weeks before that (while the leaves were growing). They just got it fixed today, had to move the dish. It's pretty much a total rip off if you ask me, but pretty much my options are limited.
I guess that's enough bitching.

Is there an update for the dash that fixes it getting confused when displaying achievements and their respective icons?  Mine seems to go through the first few games fine then when you scroll down you get a bunch of repeated icons from other games in what appears to be a random order, then when you scroll back to the top those are also corrupted. It's not that big a deal, I just find it mildly annoying when things don't work as they should.


Oh, as for the spyvie reference no I'm not from KWVA.
