Why Doesn't MS Allow Streaming Videos?
« on: April 17, 2006, 11:15:00 PM »

They allow direct streaming musics and pics but NOT VIDEOS.  You can only do this through Media Center.  But the odd thing is I don't see any reason for crippling that feature?  If it's a copy right issue of streaming illegal videos then that is not their concern since you can say the same thing about MP3...i mean people download MP3 on the internet illegally and then play it on their XBOX through their PC, what do you say of that???  If they disable this feature they might as well not allow people to watch their DVD movies on their 360 dvd player since people can make illegal copy of DVD and play it through ur damm DVD player too!  So that is totally stupid to me.  What are they thinking.

I dont remember where I heard this, but I heard that the xbox 360 was built around MCE xp because MCE pcs were not selling very well. MS wouldn't include this feature so that 360 owners who wanted to stream video had to go out and buy a media center pc.

MS did the exact same thing, only to a lesser extent, with xbox 1's "DVD dongle kits". Its all about how they can make the most money

Well i am sure the mod community will surely be able to un-cripple this feature down the road as this is something they're good at.  Screw MS those greedy bastards will feel the pain once the mod chips are out.
