Hey,

Just got my xbox 360 and have been trying to set up the media center extender all night. Firstly my setup is as follows:

XBOX 360 patch cabled into my wireless router (linksys)

MCE 2005 Laptop PC Wirelessly connected to the wireless router

I get really far and then hit the roadstop. Everything installs fine but like when your adding music or trying to connect is gives the error message that something on the pc and interupted the connection. How do i get over this? Whats interupting the session? I know its not the firewall cause i can use windows media connect. Please help, Thank you.

Another user or application on the Windows Media Center-based PC has disconnected this device.

I dont think its the firewall since ive got Windows Media Connect Working.

Do you have anything else running on the PC? a torrent client or something?

i figured it out just after my post, when installing my wireless router i accidently installed the netware protocol and thats what was interfering. im all up an runnin.

if you guys wanna play online some time my gamertag in nbp1986

Your problem sounds just like the problem I was having.  I have the 360 wired into an access point (LinkSys)and that transmits wirelessly to my LinkSys router.  I got frustrated and just wired it right to the router with a long cable.  What do you mean "accidentally installed the NetWare protocol"?  I don't think I did that, but where would I check?  Do you mean in the MCE PC's network settings?  Or is there some reference to it in the router setup?
