does anyone know if you use vista mce will it work w/ the 360? cuz its easier to do that then by a WHOLE new comp or vmware etc

There is no MCE version of Vista.  The final isn't even out yet!

Not as far as I know.  And yes, I've used many different BETAs of it.

Plus, this is MS we're talking about.  If they can make more money by forcing you to buy a more expensive, non-standard version, they will.

I have a strong feeling that it will work just fine. MS will most likely release a dashboard update or something for the 360.

I'm running the latest vista release (5308) and the media center is able to see the 360, but is unable to "configure the device settings"  There will be dashboard updates in the future to allow Vista's Media Center to run on the 360, but not right now.

does anyone know what are requirements for vista build 5308 and media center 2005?
all my computers are either old or kinda new.

if your PC can run XP it can run MCE 2005, the same for Vista but it may not run it in all its gloary.

Is the beta for Vista open yet? I know that if you subscribe to some site you can get it free.

wahoo!!!! o and Jimmy the beta is open what site are you talking about? only special people are allowed to have it... but you can get it from the "usual" places

I wound be nice if Windows Vista MCE will run on X-BOX 360, but for now you can ran amps like MAME over an network form your PC to X-BOX 360 without doing any hacking (super).

i wonder which versions of vista will include mce, hopefully Home Basic, Home Premium and Ulitimate.

but knowing ms it will just be Premium and Ulitimate.

"multiple arcade machine emulation" aka an arcade emulator, its a pc program, but it has been ported to ps2, xbox, (i belive dc and gc, but not positive) and a few other systems.
