I have a shared folder on the PC (music&vids), which only shares certain folders underneath it.

The only directories I have access to through mediacenter are the ones that were already under that folder when I created the share.

Any new subdirectories I make under the 'shared' folder report an 'access denied' error.

Any ideas ? <

Yep.. Most likely due to NTFS inheritence. Your subdirectories aren't inheriting the correct permissions. Check the sharing and permissions tabs for that option.

I've double checked the permissions & they seem to be ok.

The 'apply to subfolders' is active etc.

It's really strange.

I've tried 'unsharing' the folder & then 'resharing' it but this makes no difference.

Anything else I can try ? <

Sussed it !

Made a new directory under the shared folder........copied the contents of the folder I couldn't get access to on the X-Box to this new folder...........then deleted the old folder.
