It’s a brand new way for Xbox LIVE members [available in the US and UK only] to earn Microsoft points for doing things they already do on Xbox LIVE. Sign up and start earning Microsoft Points by watching movies and sports, playing games and more.  Plus, when you sign-up for Xbox LIVE Gold, or renew your membership you’ll earn even more. Sound good? We’re officially kicking off the program later today, but if you want to get in early hit the link below.

I really hate how they do this for just certain regions, not everyone on xbox live is from those 2 areas. Also is xbox live a community? yes therefore it should be for everyone. I pay the same as the next person so why should I get less, I can understand when it comes to things like nextflix and other copyright material but promotions like this should include everyone.

As an ever-shafted Canadian, I agree.  Not only do we pay more for an inferior service, we're also now left out of the "thank you's"

i wonder if this program will actually supported this time around. (anyone remember the last microsoft rewards program, where they gave out download codes for contra), and then never did a round 2 with more stuff)

Someone on another board was speculating that Canadians are left out due to all the wonky rules Canada has about contests and giveaways, like having to answer a test question to claim a prize, etc, so it's probably not just MS screwing you to screw you.

this is pretty good news, I'm sure this is another way for a big corporation to track us... in the same way retailers use rewards & discount cards to get special pricing.... but ONLY if you're a member.
this is just another way for M$ to track you, no big deal as they probably were tracking you anyway, this is just a way for them to do it legally.  by agreeing to take the points, you're also agreeing for them to use whatever information they collect and sell it to 3rd parties.

done and done

see ya ; )
