ok. quick question. if i have one month of live. and use it. and then you can get a discount from the dashboard and you buy the discount. (like today its 1 month live for $1). and i already have a month that started today. does it continue or do they both count as the same thing?

Why not call MS support and ask?

If you purchase a promotion off the dashboard, it will pool until your next renew date.

For example, I went ahead and got that deal for a 24 month membership on Live for a reduced price. I have not been charged yet, nor has my renewal date been set back 2 years. Once my renewal date elapses, this deal will kick in, charge me, and I will get to reap the benefits then.

Makes me wonder if you agree to purchase a promotion, then decide to cancel before your renewal date if they'll penalize you...

no, because you dont get the benefit until after you pay (for example if you bought a discount, and you cancel, then you pay full price if you renew again)

for me i got the deal with 1600 free MS points, but i dont get the points until next year when my renewal kicks in and i get charged lol

i got suspended because i bought 3 months on a promotion. (3 months for $10 and they gave you a free month so 4 for $10) it renewed and i had $2 in the account and after the 4 months ran out it renewed and didnt charge me anything still had the $2. and they suspended me until i pay th $10 which was there mistake. im going to call and argue
