Hi,

I tried searching the forum for an answer but i cant seem to find an answer for this situation. Perhaps i missed it, if somebody can be so kind as to redirect me to the topic that would be great.

Here is the situation:

I bought an Xbox arcade about 1,5 years ago and had it modded back then. I never updated the firmware.
Recently updated the dashboard through XBL. I dont have a gold account, but just the standard silver version. After that i continued to play backup games. I know that i am not *yet* banned from XBL since i can do a succesfull connection test to XBL. I havent taken out my ethernet cable ever since i have updated to the latest dashboard.

But my question is if i am flagged only to get banned when i upgrade to gold?

Upgrading to Gold from Silver alone won't get you banned/flagged if thats what your asking.

You mentioned that you have never updated your FW but have had your console modded for over a year. What FW are you currently running?

Just curious.

I assume it makes no difference if your connecting to silver or gold? if you can connect to silver without problems then you wont get banned for connecting with a gold account. I think the risks are the same, i dont know if the risks increase when playing games online.
