Xbox Live Banning
« on: January 18, 2010, 03:01:00 AM »

Hey guys, I usually only play Xbox Live when there is holiday from Uni,

Basically, Im about to go out and buy a Xbox Live 1 month subscription.

My Xbox was flashed with Ixtreme 1.5 a year or so ago, and been playing on Halo 3 every few months on Live using a original disk and still havent been banned. I havent been playing any ''back up games'' on the xbox for ages.

What I want to know is;
Is my Xbox wtih this Ixtreme 1.5 safe to update to this apparent new update? Will this ban me if I want to play Halo 3 online? my xbox has no homebrews etc....

Im just worried about being banned, that is all.

Sorry if this may seem abit stupid but I havent been as up to date in a while...

the only way to be safe is to flash your drive back to std before going back on xbox live

i did that and was still banned

each xbox 360, you can signup for free 1 month xbox live signup (3 times)

so don't waste money on 1 month card if you still have those 3 times left

You were flagged as banned. If you are flagged it doesn't matter what FW you have on your 360!

I don't think there is any hard data here about restoring your DVD to original firmware and not getting banned.

There are those that say MS can detect if you have played back up games offline. Some say yes, others say no. Right now, it is really hard to tell. Someone could have been flagged for a ban, reverted to original and were banned when they logged in. Others could have reverted to original without being flagged and caught and banned.

There is no way to tell when a person is flagged or how long it is between flagging and banning.

This is what I have gathered from my readings here.

If you want to revert to original and try it, go ahead. There isn't any guarantee you will not be banned. The only safe way to play on LIVE, in my opinion, is to have a non modded console and you play only originals with it.

From what I can tell from Team Xecuter's tests, ixtreme firmware was detectable and they use system updates to scan the drives. They ran tests and they found that they only got banned after FIRST having a modded drive THEN updating on live.

Therefore if you are flagged, you will be banned regardless. If you are NOT flagged, there's a good chance you can go back to stock firmware, update, THEN flash to LT.

Would having two seperate harddrive help? One for playing backups offline and the other to play real games online? Since data woudnt be stored on the live drive? Just keep switching them back and forth - Just wondering if this would work

No, the data is not stored on the HDD.
