The Profile you were using at the time your 360 was banned will be corrupted, along with your saves at that point and after, even if you were using your memory unit, they will show up as corrupted on other 360 consoles.

So even if you took your MU to a friends house and played it on his banned console your Profile and saves on the MU will be corrupted with no way of getting them back on your legit console without Live/Internet access. M$ do indeed suck, has to be a lawsuit right there, they could say 'but its your friends fault and he should have warned you', but YOU would have done nothing wrong, and nothing would have displayed on the screen to warn you that your profile would be corrupted if played on your friends xbox, this kind of crap along with all the rest of the crap M$ is doing is effecting their sales far more than they know, its amazing how out of touch these large companies can be. M$ should have had the market wrapped up by now, bunch of fools.

As for you HDD it may also get corrupted if you do decide to hook it back up to the banned 360, I have not personally tried the latter, only going by what others have said, if its a big HDD like 60-120gb then save it for use with another none banned 360, good luck avoiding the bans.

thought saves only were corrupted if u continued to play on the banned xbox after its banned?

as for the HD thing, someone else told me it still cripples HD use. I dont think it will corrupt the HD, but since the console i sbanned it my cripple the use of it.

I was going to buy a MU to use on the flashed console and keep my hd on the legit. but i thought maybe after the ban(if i got banned), i can switch HD between the consoles, but seems unlikely now

what a helpful post!
modded xbox not yet, and no MU yet, so i cant test... if i wanted to without 1st asking about it, this thred owuldnt be here...

also... would i be able to continue to save games on teh MU after the ban? achievements wouldnt matter, but say i have madden or nba 2k, and have a season, can i continue to load and save that if the MU stays in the banned console and never the legit?

Yes, saves before the ban should be fine, but any accessed after or during ban will not, although some dispute this.

That is what i mean by corrupt, the HDD will still be fine on the banned console but would not allow game intalls to HDD etc.  but i have not tested this personally.

Yes, just keep your corrupt profile on that console and recover your profile on your new none banned and everything should be fine, just don't mix the two (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Yes, it will be fine for saves if your console is banned, although those saves would appear corrupted on any other console.
BTW I would also make sure you have the DIVX codec on the console before it is banned, as it is tied to the console you dl it to, so if it gets banned and you did not have it on that console, then it would have no divx player (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

This is why i find it stupid to try and answer. You've been asking all these simple (takes 10min to find) questions all over the forums about backups and firmwares, yet you don't even have a modded xbox yet.

A little more reading and less posting would do you good. this has been covered in the ban/hdd crippling threads already.

i did not read the whole thread, but if you have two consoles and do not bother trying to get the modded console banned(have to leave it disconnected from the internet after it is modded), then you can swap hdd's and/or mu's between the 2 consoles without corruption...

that is what i am doing and i will leave it this way until somebody proves they have found a workaround for firmware detection on xbox live(doubtful).
