Xbox360 Media Update Files?
« on: December 17, 2009, 07:31:00 AM »

I've got a banned 360, and since it can't connect to XBL it can't download the "required media update" needed to run most files. is there a dump of this file i could load onto a hard drive and get around this issue?

nope.  its signed like dlc/arcade stuff.  Meaning it will only work on the console its downloaded onto (the first time), or if it can sign in with the gamertag who downloaded it.

this causes problems when you've changed consoles at some point.  when you download it onto the new console, xbox looks at your gamertag and the license still applies to the original console, hence won't work offline.

I suppose some of these new hacks coming out may halp you, but other then that, there's not much you can do.
