Banned Box Will No Longer Power Up.
« on: November 17, 2009, 03:02:00 PM »

My banned box is an Arcade unit purchased about 6 months ago. When it got banned i went out and bought another arcade. Disconnected the banned box, put in the new one. Let the banned box sit for a few days, then went to hook it up in another room, and it will not even power on. Tried 2 power bricks, they will both power the new box, but the old on seems completely dead.

And... it just so happens to have a retail game in it as well.

Coincidence?

I can flash these things in a bout 20 minutes now, but I have no idea what yo do about this power issue... any ideas?

XD sounds like a coincidence, never heard any other cases like this so probably just a stroke of bad luck

did the power brick show red? If so, it is probably just something shorting out on the underside of the motherboard. Check near the power connector for any damage. If there is, try running a jumper to the trace.

Nope, amber, just like any other brick with the power on the xbox off. Guess I'll have to take it to a 3rd party repair...
