nice idea, i also have some rrod board hanging around. but i dont now if they are banned or not. i dont have the tools to swap it. but i going to do some calls to some companies, i wonder what they charge to do this,
only im afraid that the costs of doing this will be higher then buying a new console.

AND M$ BITCHES DONT SELL ARCADES ANYMORE *holes

anyone willing to speculate on why they think MS figured out who to ban. I remember some talk not so long ago about MS having done something to the hypervisor, allowing them to see if someone had there xbox powered on without having the dvd drive hooked up. i wonder if anyone out there that got banned this wave was using another means to mod such as a connectivity kit.

It makes u wonder ... if they write other articles about stuff you don't know so much about ... do they also make so many mistakes? Scary.

i had noticed the very numerous mistakes in all of the banning articles that the mainstream press had written, but hadn't connected the dots on that point yet. that is pretty terrifying if the news that i didn't already know about is as mistake ridden as that  ohmy.gif

No speculation needed.

I hope we can manage to keep this thread on topic. I think the main issue now is that the steps listed in the first post are extremely vague and the majority of us don't know exactly how the successful fixes have truly been implemented in detail. Is anyone willing to help out with this? The talk of soldering is also confusing because, while it has been mentioned in a different thread/fix, I don't believe any soldering was necessary in the fix this thread is concerned with. Is that correct?

no the 8xxx range of kernels also updates the CB (where the timing attack lived), it was done to patch the jtag exploit but also has the side effect of all those consoles that were vulnerable to the timing attack exploit are no longer exploitable

Popular hacker software includes "Comet Cursor", "Bonzi Buddy" and "Flash".

If your son has requested a new "processor" from a company called "AMD", this is genuine cause for alarm. AMD is a third-world based company who make inferior, "knock-off" copies of American processor chips. They use child labor extensively in their third world sweatshops, and they deliberately disable the security features that American processor makers, such as Intel, use to prevent hacking.

OMFG!!!!!!!

Well there is a tiny bit of truth to this. -- AMD started in 1969, and in 1975 Intel released the 8080 processor, AMD then "REVERSE-IT" (back in the days when this was allowed), and then started producing
tons of cheap "knock-off" clones, and this battle contiune for a few more years, of Intel releasing a new processor, and AMD cloning it. -- As for third-world labour, it was bad, I toured some of the factorys in asia during the early '80s and god it was horrible seeing the tons of young woman soldering away building cheap clones of the early computers, but this was in the assembly factories of electronics, not in the processor chip labs which have to be 100% clean-rooms to make the chip die itself.

It is funny how AMD which did start out with its hacking/cloning routes and turn out to multi-billion dollar company, now these days with all the new laws, lawyers, and rules, if you tried to do the same thing, reverse-eng, the CELL processer on the PS3 designed by IBM/Sony/Toshiba you would quickly end up in jail before you could even market it. -- Times have changed. -- And it is making me feel real old suddenly.
