Ok, I was hoping you guys could answer a (what I assume is a simple) question...

My xbox is banned. So if I'm understanding correctly, when I get new achievements and make new savegames, they're not actually 'corrupt', they just have a tag on them that makes unbanned xboxes read them as corrupt, right?

And what this flag-removing method does is make it so the 'corrupt' files are read normally again, correct?

So my question is if I do this flag-removal right now on my banned xbox, will any future achievements I get still get the flag put on it?

In other words, is this a one and done thing, or do I have to keep doing it every time I get new achievements or savegames?

You'd have to do it every time your banned console wrote to the saves/profiles.

Ah, ok, so basically I shouldn't bother with doing this until I'm ready to move my hard drive to an unmodded xbox?

Here is what worked for me:

1. Unplugged the memory card that had my "corrupted" profile on it
2. Turned off console
3. Plugged in hard drive with no profiles on it
4. Turned console back on
5. Recovered my profile from Xbox Live to the hard drive
6. Turned console off
7. Removed hard drive
8. Turned console back on
9. Plugged in memory card with my "corrupt" profile
10. Went to system settings, memory, MU, Gamer Profiles, Corrupted Profile
11. Delete, Delete Profile Only - Make sure you select PROFILE ONLY
12. Turned console off
13. Hooked hard drive back up to console
14. Turned console back on
15. System settings, memory, Hard Drive, Gamer Profiles, Move
16. Moved profile from hard drive to mem card
17. All my game saves now work again on this non banned console
This process should work with a 2nd memory card instead of the hard drive too

Hope this isn't a double post and that someone finds this useful.

Awsome! This worked for me perfectly! Now I can use all my gamesaves and whatnot without having to connect my HDD to PC. All I have to do is re-recover my profile on my xbox live console.

so can u use teh same HD between a banned and unbanned console doing this, and get gamerscore?

anytime you use a gamertag on a banned console, it writes it so it can't be read on any other console.  

when you recovered it on another console, it recovers from microsofts database, and thus the gamerscore is what they had the last time you logged into live.

so you can't really earn gamescore when playing on a banned box, because there's no way to use that gamertag file on another console to connect to live, to send the update gamerscore?
