since LT is on hodl indefinitely, what FW should I use? Im gonna buy a preflashed console.

its a crapshoot.. I don't think anyones shown any concrete evidence of what is causing the ban.  Even going back to the non stealth version of 1.4 or 1.4.1 is probably a theory.

if you read some of these threads, you'll realize no one really knows whats up, and the fact the new firmware has been put on hold, suggests something complicated?

for those not banned, what dl dvd+/-R have you used?

for me, nothing but verbatim -R and maybe a few verbatim+R's but that was at least a year ago and possibly just on my old 360

At this point I'm not banned....running 1.61 IX on Benq....almost exclusive backups with Verbatim media.   Few points of info...NOT gold member, just running updates and stuff...once was Gold member many months ago...even with gold have NEVER played multi player....so far not banned....hope this helps.  Also have been running talismoon 12v fans since day one....

on all my current backups I have been using memorex -R's. I was tired of buying verbatims. haha.

strong.. people don't get that its not just playing on live where they can check the disk to see if its a backup.

any time your connected to live and a disc is in the tray you exposed.  You could just be surfing around the dashboard and what not, and they could read the disc.

the only way (As far as we know) is to keep backups offline completely..   ie never connect to live while anything is in the drive.

For what it's worth, I just had a customer come to me who has a BenQ with and was running the nonstealth 1.4 frimware since it came out.  He has not been banned.  I was really surprised to hear this.

Too be true i think everybody that played since september october has been flagged lol. I have played 5 times on live in september and october and i called xbox.com they said im banned. The last dasboard i had installed was the one before the WPA2 update
