I have no idea what those checks mean and have no idea what to even search for to find out. Can you point me towards something that explains what you're posting there? Sorry about the derail, I'm just curious.

This and other info coming in now basically proves that AP2.5 has been turned on, as well as some form of Firmware CRC check. The Firmware check appears to only work in newer drives, so it is probably something added later. The AP2.5 works in the majority of drives, but is still a disc check so not 100%.

There are tons of reports of people flashing a drive and getting banned the first time they turn it on after.

nice theory, but its not right.  and no one has been banned immediately after flashing the drive without putting a back up in.

Ok... Im going to post this again for the kiddes not understanding the situation.. Microsoft implemented a Multivectored "Piracy" ban... They can bypass firmguard without powercycling(This is speculation but no effing retard would build something and cut off all access to it, evidence is being procured), Second, they are detecting Marked copies of games(Hence the massive Forza ban... They have the technology) Including Multiple "DVD ID codes"... Meaning if you are online with a copy of a game while the original is still in play online, your both marked for the laser guided ban hammer(Once again speculation, but with all the bans pertaining to this, Simple deduction proves this... just not the means by how they did)... The hard drive keeps information of Flagged systems, When moving a HDD from a modded(BANNED) to an unmodded(NOT BANNED) the NOT BANNED will Become BANNED because of the flags stored in the HDD...  THis has been proven by about 15 people i know... I dont have a banned console yet, when they do, i will be trying to pull this info from the HDD and find how they are transmitting data back to the main center.... Once found, Hopefully i can find a way of disabling it.. Since its not a vital function, Xbox live can not be banned if it cant recieve information...  I am in the process of procuring some banned consoles for testing now... I have one on the way it will be here in about 2-3 days(Being Shipped)... I will find out how they did this and how to stop it

I tested this I plugged in a 360 that was not banned two weeks back with out a HDD and is now banned(with no HDD plugged in the last two weeks).

So its not the HDD.

I had friends personally test this... Unmodded xbox's were banned from simply moving hard drive and letting sit for a inquiry from MS servers... Information is being stored there. as i said, once i get the banned console, ill upload the information and hopefully have a fix for this bs(I have access to packet shaping software, if i can weed out the information sent to microsoft, Once again, i can stop it, at least until they change protocol)

Your friend should sue then. I wish my unmodified 360 was banned cus of HDD swap. I would file a class action law suit.

I thought the LIVE packets payload is encrypted.

So he got an unmodded 360 and put a hdd in it from a banned 360 and it banned the unmodded 360?  blink.gif
how long did it take to get banned?

will an unmodded 360 get banned like this if the banned hdd is formatted first?

There is no way they would ban just for using a hard drive from a banned console on a never touched console, and on top of that everything would be crupted and you would have to format it to the new console so you would have a clean slate to re-start with anyway that is if you actually wanted to use the full hard drive to put games on.
