If I'd get the NAND backup done, would I need to desolder everything then, too or I could leave it alla soldered for the next time?

yes you can leave it installed

You don't have to desolder it. But you cant have it plugged into the PC if you want to use your XBOX.

Confirmed.  HDD installs can be restore by restoring a recent NAND backup after ban.

Test configuration:
Falcon 360 - used online extensively with many varied rips and quality levels of media (all my own of course).  360 condition was failing and unstable during gameplay so a good test unit.
20GB HDD
iXtreme versions used BenQ 1.4 - BenQ 1.61 on this drive.
updated to most recent level via Xbox Live (xell exploit no longer possible)
Wired up the LPT connections.  Did not use the Diodes for the JTAG portion as exploitable kernel not available due to upgrades.
1 game installed to HDD.

Made 3 complete backups of the NAND via LPT using Nandpro20b.
Went on Live until banned

Verified currently installed game would no longer play from HDD.
Verified unable to install game to HDD.

Restore backup NAND image taken before ban.

Previously installed game works from HDD.
Install to HDD allows installs again.

SWEETNESS

To be clear since this is just a restore of the same NAND that was backed up nothing about Live is changed.  Going on Live again would result in the system being kicked off as banned again.
The purpose of this is to simply restore the ability to Install to HDD and have the system usable offline for gaming without corrupting saves/profiles.
Seeing what has changed was not possible since the system does not have an exploitable kernel and thus can not retrieve CPU keys to decrypt the NAND.

Just adding all the links I used to get this done.  Some of these links apply to exploitable boxes, but I have a few of those as well and I am to lazy to separate the links out.

Note, you don't need the 2 Diodes and Jumper wire for reading/writing the nand.  You only need that if you know you have an exploitable kernel and plan to flash Xell.

Basically you need the 7 wires, 1 diode, DB25 connector, and optionally the 5 100 ohm resistors.

You can make a easy kit yourself for about $5.

You just go down to radio shack or something like that.
Buy pin headder (like what you used on xbox 1)
Solder that in (if your mother board doesnt have holes all the way though you can dill them out with a small drill piece)

Then get the female side of the pin headder and solder the lpt port on to that.
what you do with the resistors is just stick them on the female side.

Its what iv started to do now with all the xboxs Im un-banning as it saves a bit of time and it makes it nice and clean instead of having wires every where.

Do you really need some photos?
Surely you can imagine what a pin header looks like.

Thats what its like on a xbox 1.

Ill get a pic tomorrow if you really need one as iv finished with xbox 360 for today, 37 is enough to make me not want to look at another one for awhile.

Well, I meant the whole thing as its connected to the 360, as it would be useful to see it all hooked up. If you have the chance.

Well that's some good news. But unfortunately, I don't have a NAND backup.
I was wondering if you could backup your 360 after it gets banned and then do a file comparison (with total commander or whatever tool you like) in order to see what has changed. It could really help the poor suckers (like me) who don't have a backup to restore. Maybe it could be possible to restore the hdd functionality just by editing the current NAND dump.

Okay HDD install is back with the backup but what about savegames and profile ?
Do the savegames work again after having been "corrupted" by the ban info in the nand ? Is the gamertag corrupted ? (this is what happens when you put your hdd on an unbanned box)

looks like stuff in secdata file but unconfirmed ..
but even if this was the location, you would not be able to do anything about it with out you cpu key to re-encypt it after modifying it

I'm with you on this, I'm not very technical lol. A nice jungleflasher type pdf tutorial and a kit would be nice lol. Id buy it.

i cannot confirm this myself because i have not been banned(still staying offline), but it should be assumed that any data that travels from a banned console to an updated xbox live console will still behave as it does before the nand restore of the banned console. this is based on my understanding that the updated live console will never again trust data from the banned console.
