Restore Hdd Installs With Nand Numps?
« Reply #46 on: November 10, 2009, 11:05:00 PM »

Would appreciate if anyone could answer my questions.

1. Can the Jasper Nand be read/written?
2. Would it still be possible if I have the latest update?
3. Would I need any special devices/tools.

I have followed with this thread:
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=690493

but there is no mention of the Jasper motherboard. I assume it would be similar for the Jasper.
Could any one provide me answers?

Its called Cygnos360 V2.0.
But doesnt do much with out knowing your CPUKEY which can only be gotten with a old dash thats exploitable.

Thanks for the info my DB 2.0.8507 so with it been this I can't do any Backup or Restore got no CPUKEY. I'm just going to update to the last DB update and say the hell with it after I get my DVDKey off the drive.

Yes you can backup and restore the nand with that version. Any dash version will work.
Just you cannt run xell once your at or above 8XXXX so you cant get the cpukey to modify and decrypt the nand image you backed up.

But its still useful to keep a backup so if you get banned you can restore and the xbox wont know its been banned so all the features still work.

Just you will have to make a new backup each time you have a update that blows a fuse.

Go ahead and try, Its not exactly easy to solder on a new cpu.
If your solderings up to skill it will work but you will also need to swap the dvd drives.

oh and the dash will need to be the same version other wise it wont boot because the burnt fuses.

Thank you for confirming that. So JTAG is only needed to run Xell and the LPT portion is the only thing needed to read and write to NAND. I have read tons of tutorials and none of them mention this. I guess in the past you really needed to do both, I mean what other good reason would you have to read and write your NAND if not for running Xell. But now with the recent bans and HDD crippling, it is a very good safety net to have a NAND backup. Thanks again for the confirmation.

Correct, No ones ever need to keep a backup in the past. All my xboxs now have a LPT wired to them so I can update the backup if I get a new dash update.

If I'd get the NAND backup done, would I need to desolder everything then, too or I could leave it alla soldered for the next time?
