you wanna find out if your box is banned, do one of two things, call MS and see about a repair.
Or two go into your system settings and network, and run a test on xbox live.
if it gives you the error code in Z than your banned, dont know the error code? Google it.

ummm....think logicistics why would you lodge a request for a repair on the US site, when you are in Austrlalia? When you do this you must be logged into xbox.com, the same site in real terms. I did the test last Sun morning got the error (on US). Then I successfully logged into Xbox live straight after.

Also if you read through this thread from top to bottom (like I did) you will see that results are not consistent. I had to know for sure if I was banned and found out last night as I couldnt just stay off live indefinately. If you feel you are mate then dont connect. But know this...if you are flagged you are banned!

He gets the errorpage 54420,but is not banned YET!
Sooner or later they sweep\ban him,I bet my ass on it.Wrong time,wrong place! You know?

I did try it mate read my reply above. Funny you confirm what I said earlier with your mate who got the error but can connect live. He will be banned soon enough. I doubt few will survive the ban waves this year.

Guys before you all get upset like these two peeps...if you run the tests in this thread, although the network one will accept your ban, consider this....after I connected to live on Sun (didnt play just logged in), I didnt touch my 360 till last night, I flashed back to stock and tried to connect banned. Thus I had already been flagged regardless of how I tried to fly straight again.......it just hadnt come through.

In conclusion if you know you played online with hacked firmware and backups after the 28th system update...dont connect to live if you want to keep HDD install, because if that console id ever 'dials in'....ban hammer

I went on, it says my warranty is expired but I clicked Request a new repair and it showed up with my personal information like address and name etc. I did not click confirm because I'm not sure what happens after you hit confirm, but I would assume that I am not banned? Pretty sick if I am not banned. I have been really lucky. I played GoW2 2 weeks before it came out online, played multiple other games online 2 days before release, however if I was playing them before 2 days before release, I would make sure my Xbox's date was reset to 2005. I played Modern Warfare 2 (the apparently legit one) early and am still playing it. I have a Benq FW 1.6 and I am using activate.iso to play wave 4 games.

. So your not banned yet, you can connect to live? With 600k -1M consoles apparently banned you would be very lucky to survive. Dont clebrate yet the waves have not finished....

I've found this to be simply not true, I checked on Wednesday night and was allowed to register my console for a RROD repair... and then I got banned 20 minutes later.

Obviously, this could be a coincidence but I would personally advise against doing this to "check" if you're flagged for banning. If you've played pre-release games then I would just expect the ban and change console.

The most accurate safe ban check is simply calling support and asking if the console is banned by giving them the serial. Just don't give them your gamertag or other info. Make up a story if you feel inspired. And don't be a jerk, it isn't the support guy's fault.

Shouldn't this thread be put into garbage bin.
People that read the first post and do what it says will BAN them.

I thought it said safe BAN CHECK, this way is NOT SAFE at ALL and the FIRST POST SHOULD REFLECT that , that is why we have 13 pages.

I took the test and I did get the code , and 1 minute later came the message "your console is banned". At that point you lose hard drive install feature.

you clueless IDIOT, the point was that if you SAW the code you didn't take the risk of going online with the 360, you where going to get banned regardless if you did this test or not if you where already flagged.

Hey, i click on request repair and i can still fill out the form and everything to print a shipping label, but my XBOX is banned because i tried connection to live a few days ago...

If you're flagged for ban by any "check", then no new firmware can avoid it. You are banned server side. The box is banned no matter what you do to it after the fact

Did you do a test on the US, UK or Aus site?

I'm from australia, now had myself and 6 mates tested it. It doesn't work for any of us on the aussie site, shows fine and dandy.

But, by changing location at top of xbox.com.au to united states, going onto xbox.com so that a .US comes up in repair area, this repair test works.

3 banned repair error 54420
2 repair error 54420 for few days, still played on LIVE, then ban
2 of us no repair error, not banned, still playing fine on LIVE.

A friend got banned today,hes got the error page 54420 2 days ago!
Another friend who was banned today,didnt make ANY network tests!!!

It has nothing to do with it,MS WILL CATCH YOU this time
