MS forcefully removes private chat from upcoming titles

K i just said fuck it and put in cod5 again, so for all these people saying that party chat killed these games, why is it on random, several different games, more then half of the people are not even using the mic, i would way 70% dont even have a mic, so if thats the case, then ban them from playing these games also if you wanna use that bs reason. Last night on open chat, we couldnt even have talked if we wanted because most had no mic, the others were 13yr old kids screaming/singing/telling jokes into the mic, and the other half were a group of guys calling the 13yr old out with racial your momma childish shit, so where the fuck is the fun at?

Um, doesn't the kill cam show you where the opponents are too?  Couldn't I team speak, ventrilo, or telephone the info to my teamates?  Party chat is a must, noone wants to listen to annoying kids screaming and cursing racist homophobic remarks.

Modern Warfare has been removing alot lately, such a waste of a good game.

I said this would be coming and probably with MW2 for over a year, yet none of my friends would listen to me. lol

I use party chat to cheat and help my party/team too but I would also rather it not be available as it is cheating.

they said private chat, but everyone uses party chat. But im guessing they mean party chat as well....

But I like it, I dont always have friends playing, so I have no one to talk to or strategize with. its alot easier to win if u know what the rest of your team is doing, where they are etc....

Stupidest thing ever, for one my 9 yr old son is only allowed to play in his party chat during game play, second tonight playing cod5 i had to hear some kid sing into the mic, some person blast music the whole time, a group of friends who decided to use racial slurs thru out the game, score one for ms giving into a big title game like mw2, cant wait to tape the conversations my 9yr old has to hear and call ms and thank them for their smart move

Why is your 9 year old son playing a rated M game, especially if you don't want him to hear foul language?

HAHA.. exactly! That was going to be my response. It's amazing how parents will put the blame on the developers and yet show no disgression themselves. It's just poor parenting.

what about taking the player out of the level after they die? too depressing? or making their screen blank... and give them something else to do like look at scores and stats and customizing their ****. Isn't that a good option?

because you know where they were.
Developers game, their choice. Frankly i like developers to have all the options they could ever want. It'll keep them happy and coming back.

Exactly, and another good example of how people just don't understand... Because you already have the option to disable voice communication for your kids. But this is the option to disable "private chat" and not general voice communication. And the addition is for developers and not parents.

Not all 'M' rated games are rated 'M' for the same reason.

COD is rated M for depictions of violence, not for language. I grew up on violent movies, and cartoons, but those movies/cartoons also didn't contain depictions of sex and/or foul language (movies may have the occasional word, but usually "lesser" swear words).

I really don't see anything in the Call of Duty game itself that a typical 9 year old couldn't handle. Hell, there's not even really any blood or gore or anything (even tho the rating says there is, I didn't really notice a lot).

if this holds true for other games i'll just go back to what I did when playing Halo 2 (as their chat feature sucked) of talking on a 4 way phone call with a bluetooth headset.  Or I might give ventrillo a shot, but I'm not sure if that will work for some of my friends.  Regardless this is stupid, I only like talking to my friends when playing generally.  Hell most the time I play a game online i'm in party chat with people who are playing a different game.

I support it. If it's that terribly implemented then rest assured it'll be fixed. Other than that, posts from butthurt cheaters are good for laughs.
