I have played forza 3 early. been playing for about a week.  Every time I play I have the internet disconnected. I have not been banned. Is everyone getting banned or just random people?

Some people want to try and risk it...
ill wait until the release date until i play online as i have always done.

Trying to avoid a ban if anyone can help me out.

I have been playing forza 3 offline for a few days now. I have not connected my box online since. I have now formated my hard drive on the 360's system menu so all information on the hard drive is deleted.

My question is, if it is possible to reset the 360 so all the information stored on system memory is reset?
Will the achievements accumulated during offline play be deleted after the format?
Is any of this worth my time? Or is the Banhammer gonna get me anyway?

I know it is possible to get banned playing offline, with no HD so I am assuming the 360 has some system memory for their purposes (dashboards, updates, etc.) so when you connect to live it flags you.

I am very good with technology so don't be afraid to tell me a complicated way of reseting the system memory. Whatever works is what I am looking for.

I bought this console within 30 days, so should I restore original firmware and exchange it? (Bought from Wal-Mart).

So what happens if you play the early game on a Silver account then switch to Gold on the release date?
Do they ban the Silver or the console or Gold or all of them?

Maybe someone can get some practice in without getting their Gold account fried.

What if you play the game not signed in to any Gamertag? You can't save, but do you get banned in any way?

It is very difficult for me to believe that M$ this time can simply ban your Gamescore, DLC related with Gamescore even PREVIOUS purchased content, current M$ points; because you played a pre-release. THIS IS NOT LEGAL ANYWHERE, or maybe only I think like this??? Which kind of "Terms" you must accept to play your console Live?? Draconian fu%#$@ing bastards

I am not banned for the "reason this time" but this is a  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/jester.gif)  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/jester.gif)  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/jester.gif)  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/jester.gif)  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/jester.gif)

I hope some Countries with consumer laws will understand that this kind of penalty it is a joke and Will protect the customers, definitely what is going on now it is not reasonable in terms of consumer rights, so say the least

So because you can't afford the price of games it should be OK for you to steal them? Is that really your argument? You agree to the terms and conditions when you sign up for a Live account and you know the consequences of playing "backups" on Live, so why does this always happen during a ban wave? There's always someone looking to shift the blame from themselves to Microsoft, but the only person to blame is yourself. You pirated a game and played it early when you don't know whether it's a good rip from a retail source, you got caught, now you're paying the consequences. Suck it up and take the responsibility. All the moaning in the world isn't going to change a thing.

I am not stealing anyone, Microsoft was the one who stoled me. I buyed their console, payed for a gold account and for MS Points, payed for legit games. They don't have the right to block my account. They're not banning because of pirated forza 3, they are banning because people played it early. If someone play today a LEGIT forza 3 copy, will be banned too.

Why would Microsoft ban you for a day? Geez that would hurt..lol... doesn't make sense

To all users.... don't be surprised if your baned if you do any of the following
  • You play online with an image that was not 100% verified by ABGX360
  • You play a release early before retail
  • You alter or hack your profile
If you don't know about abgx and stealth, you cant play other games till the latest release becomes retail and you try to hack your own profile...then you shouldn't mod your 360

absol-freaking-lutely!

I always get a chuckle out of these posts when people get banned.
If you pirate something, you guys risk getting banned. You all know that.

Stop pirating or hacking and you won't have these issues!

You can transfer your content from a banned system. I've done it. This is an account ban however, not a console ban, so you can't transfer your stuff over to a new account.

Im not sure if that is true. I always get games early (although I havent tried forza) and never have been banned, including all the halo series games. Still workin great over here!

I think by playing a game early, they just FLAG you. Then they have a team of people that investigate the cause of the flag, check out your past history (other flags?) and if you fall into a specific category you get banned.

Cause I can confirm they don't ban early releases cause I do it all the time (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I'm playing the PAL version for 2 days online now (I'm even to lazy to unplugg the nw cable). I still can go online with my account. Also did some small profile editing on my custom made 120gb hdd. This isn't looking good for me. smile.gif

When will this banhammer be over so that I can known that my game profile is safe (without staying offline ofxourse)?

That's not true at all, as I posted on page 1 - This is from the Director of Policy and Enforcement for Xbox LIVE's Twitter page: -

QUOTE
Don't worry folks, anyone who bought a copy early is ok. In general, if you got a receipt, play away. These are illegit copies we're hitting

But regardless of that, you have already admitted that you didn't buy the game. You haven't bought a legit copy early from a store, so why are you talking about hypothetical situations? Accept responsibility for what YOU decided to do and stop trying to pass the buck. Your argument now seems to be "it's not fair that I got banned even though I'm playing a pirated copy, because even if it was a legit copy, MS would have banned me anyway for playing early" which is completely flawed logic and not even based on fact. Even if you owned a legit copy and have a receipt, why are you moaning on here? It's not going to get you unbanned.

I tried out Forza 3 on an account thats never been on live. I disconnected my network cable also. I did that on the 14th and I've been good with my live account. Not sure why people would use their live account to play an early release.

Well.. I didn't play Borderlands.. But I played Forza 3.. And I got an account ban now. I played connected to live.

However it's not <removed> rip that's banning I don't think. Because I know people that use it, and some of them have been banned, some not. I think they're literally going by hand through the leaderboards or something and trying to see who shouldn't have it..

Also if it was a bad rip, it'd make more sense for them to console ban, which they haven't been doing. So yeah..

Or maybe they're looking at online games played. And by that I mean matchmaking and etc.

Who knows..

My guess is that they are just banning everyone who is playing early. If they were detecting that these were backups, they would ban the entire console. Take this quote from Stephen Toulouse: "Don't worry folks, anyone who bought a copy early is ok. In general, if you got a receipt, play away. These are illegit copies we're hitting." They will just plan all prelease players and then if they hit any legit purchasers, they can dispute with their receipt and get unbanned

hmm over here in th uk the law is pretty much "innocent till proven guilty" what microsoft are doing is the opisite and over here, highly illeagal (i think its even against human rights to be clasified as guilty till proven innocent but i may be wrong

i have played borderlands and im so far fine, has anyone been banned in the uk ? im thinking maybe in the usa the "innocent till proven guilty" may not be the case?
