I've been having this problem lately where when I load a game upon powering on the xbox, when I try to connect to live I get a "can't connect to xbox live" error. If I retry, I get the same error.

If I choose "test xbox live connection" and perform this, everything shows up as working, and if I then load the game I can connect fine. I have tried this with both wired connection and using microsoft wireless adapter. I am assigning a static IP to my xbox and forwarding the ports through DD-WRT on my router as I have done for years which has worked fine.

Does anybody know what could cause this?
