Stealing My Credit Card
« on: February 03, 2020, 02:06:00 PM »

Well my discover card calls me this morning wondering why i have spent $250 in Microsoft purchases, and I was like wtf.  So i disputed all of it and got it taken care of (or so i thought), then my friend calls me and tells me that the person he sold his live account to, stole my credit card and is using it. The guys is 19 years old and i'm 24. and so i called bullshit and asked him wtf did he steal my credit card.  I am sure the only reason he called is because it started declining his ass.  He stole it Tuesday night when i let him sleep over.  Wednesday he made purchases of 6.86, 13.72, 13.72, 49.99, and this morning 68.59 and 68.59.  he stole just the numbers and purchased live shit with it on his account (why didn't the dumbass make a new account?).

The reason I'm posting this is because I called Microsoft to see what those purchases were.  Since he has now removed my credit card from the account they can't see anything.  Unless i have his account's secret question which i don't.  I don't wanna hack his account, i just wanna see wtf he bought.  Now he has pretty much erased his steps by deleting my credit card number (thanks Microsoft).  The cops will be here soon, meanwhile I am calling up my card providers telling them to cancel my cards and send me new ones, and i don't know what to tell the police besides the bullshit he told me, and Microsoft has banned his live account for fraud (CamTheMan9478). Any advice on what to do next? Do you think he will get away with his story of I handed that account recently to someone else (by account recover with his username and password to some random sh.thead)

well if M$ truely did ban his account for fraud then that infact DOES connect him to it and then you may be able to prove it to the police but you need to get some sort of info from M$. also his IP address/MAC should be able to be traced from those transactions somehow by either the CC company or M$ (or both). there IS some way. i have had my account stolen before and something similar to this has happened.

i've seen xbox live logs that include everything. somehow the people at 1-800-4-my-xbox can't tell what xbox it was (it doesn't record ip or serial for online transactions through the xbox?)

The credit card was a Sams Club Discover with around 8,000 on it (out of 10,000) available.  So i'm glad he didn't charge more.  I am glad Discover caught it right away.  The cops out here have still not come over to make a report. lol. it's been 4 hours and i feel like i need to take care of this now. I'm trying hard to take the high path on this one.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/muhaha.gif)

Oh yeah, so the wifee went to sams club today and her card was declined (i guess they cancelled all the cards on our account). lol.  not to mention all the other cards were cancelled so she was stuck, but luckily she carries a check book! lol. Maybe i should find mine for these 3 days.

Total loss in 24 hours that i know about: $221.47

SoccerPhenom20 Live Account

So he changed  his live account. Microsoft tells me that it is suspended due to fraud.
