(IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ya, 2.5 billion achievements. Damn this is a sick world we live in.

Almost all video game players don't stop when they want to but rather when they have all the achievements. Or even that they play for the sole purpose of collecting achievements, they'll buy any game that's hyped up and spend the entire time thinking about achievements. I blame the parents for being dumb****s.

i guess it just makes you feel like you achieved something.

and competing with your friends to try to get the biggest gamer score is even better.... now im not a achievement whore but i do like to compete with my friends now when you see someone online with a 50k gamerscore....that guy is in a whole different level lol

Almost all? Really? Do you have anything to support that bold claim? I'm thinking no. If anything I'd almost no one plays that way.

If that is what makes them happy... then so be it.  If obtaining achievement points is fun for them, how is that any different from you spending your time having fun by enjoying the game your own way without worrying about the achievements?  What's sick about this world we live in is people spending too much time worrying about what others are doing and not enough time worrying about what they are doing.

I doubt this figure is accurate. What about all the users that have never connected to live? There's no way microsoft can know how many they have unlocked. I would say this is an over estimate.
