Xbox Live Error 8015d080

I have recently been trying to upgrade my silver account on xbox live to a gold subscription but I keep receiving the error code 8015d080? I have tried for several days now and I have read around a little bit on the issue. The only solution I have been able to discover is to create a whole new account and gamertag but honestly I dont want to do that at all. I was able to play 48hr trials on this account just last week so I don't understand why I wouldnt be able to successfuly upgrade to Gold permanently? Any help would be appreciated. I dont want to have to give up all my achievements and saves for this unless it's absolutely necessary.

call microsoft. maybe they suspended your account? are you able to log into xbox.com and check your billing info?

Yea i just called them and they said my account was corrupt or something from using trials? I don't get why that would corrupt my account but whatever. I was forced to create a new gamertag and lose everything

if your account was simply corrupt, could you have just done an account recovery?
