Xbox Live Arcade With Ixtreme
« on: August 11, 2008, 06:43:00 PM »

I have an xbox with iXtreme firmware on the DVD drive. From what I understand, the reason recent bannings have been happening on Xbox Live are because of slight timing differences between burnt games and real discs.
Geometry wars 2 recently came out, and I really want to download it, but It would be a pain to unmod my xbox just to download one game. Is it safe to go on xbox live without a dvd in the drive?

Mod your drive and give up live. note live only reads when a disk is in.

So If it doesn't read the drive I would be able to go on live and get the game?
I don't ever play online, or even play the xbox (at least not since geometry wars 1 haha), so if i dont have to unmod the thing its less work for me,

you should be able to boot it without anything in the drive and get on live successfully.

I have played backup games on live and not got banned so you should be fine.

Athough you should because it is against the Live TOS and the rules of this forum.

To the OP... its perfectly safe.  Download the game and enjoy.

What does the live ban means?

Does it mean you brick the Xbox 360? Or does it mean only live? If it is banned do you still get the main menu screen?

I have two consoles, one for live and one offline. I am planning to use the flashed one (1.41 iXtreme firmware) online but with only with the original discs. Will it be safe?
